Ellen Clarke
British Geological Survey [United Kingdom]
Ellen Clarke recently took over as the head of Geomagnetism at the British Geological Survey within the Multi-hazards and resilience research challenge area, having worked in geomagnetic observatory and space weather research for 30+ years. My own and our team’s objectives are:
- measuring and recording the Earth’s natural magnetic field at a network of geomagnetic observatories
- modelling the magnetic field and understanding all its sources, including geomagnetic hazard, a component of the space-weather hazard to technology and society
- delivering geomagnetic data/indices, tailored products and services to academia, business and the public
