National Observatory of Athens [Greece]
Dr. Ioanna Tsagouri is Senior Researcher in the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). She received a PhD in Space Physics in 2003 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From 2001 until 2006 she worked as scientific staff at NOA. Her research activities are based on the systematic exploitation of ground- and space-based observations for the investigation of solar wind-magnetosphere-plasmasphere-ionosphere interactions with the focus in ionospheric modeling and forecasting including: development and validation of ionospheric prediction models; transition of research models to operational systems; development of products and services that meet operational requirements. She has participated in a large number of research projects funded by EC and other national and international organizations, often with leading roles. She has published more than 60 papers in peer review international scientific journals and she has participated in more than 80 scientific conferences and meetings.
