E-SWAN Executive Board Treasurer

Jaroslav Urbar was lucky to learn a bit about multiple areas concerning the space weather. As young student he modeled cosmic-ray atmosphere interactions and later PIed 3 related stratospheric balloon student experiments. He is experienced with the ESA decision-making process as SSA national delegate and he explored geomagnetism and operational perspectives working at Tromso geophysical observatory in Norway. While his PhD research focused on the solar wind and the Earth’s foreshock physics, for postdoctoral projects (IAP CAS in Prague, INGV in Rome) he got interested in solar effects on the ionospheric weather.
